“A ship is safe in harbour, but that’s not what ships are built for.”
These words have always resonated with me. They reflect how I approach environmental science – with curiosity, a willingness to test new ideas and a focus on finding practical solutions to complex challenges.
I have led environmental and mine closure projects across Queensland and nationally, with experience in conceptual and detailed mine closure planning, rehabilitation scheduling, risk assessment, liability costing, approvals and implementation. My role combines project management, technical delivery, reporting and stakeholder engagement to help clients develop clear, practical pathways toward rehabilitation and relinquishment.
With a PhD in Applied Physics (Geophotonics) and expertise in geomorphology, geochronology and landscape ecology, my diverse background helps me bridge the gap between scientific research and practical environmental solutions.
From complex mine closure projects to award-winning research in catchment management, what drives me is seeing this work make a real difference – turning disturbed landscapes into functioning ecosystems and helping clients achieve positive environmental outcomes.
When away from the office, you’ll often find me playing guitar or hauling camera gear up mountain trails, seeking new perspectives on our natural world. Connecting with nature through the lens really helps me appreciate the deeper significance of the work we do.
