IEMA supported Yancoal Australia across detailed mine closure planning for multiple coal assets, including the Stratford Mining Complex, Duralie Coal Mine and Austar Coal Mine. The work involved multi-year, iterative closure planning programs across open cut and underground operations, integrating technical studies, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory alignment.

IEMA supported an Australian Private Health Insurer, in partnership with Esprit, to deliver climate scenario analysis aligned with the Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards (ASRS). The project enabled the health insurer to better understand climate-related risks and opportunities and strengthen its resilience under a range of future climate scenarios.

Evolution Mining operates Cowal Gold Operations in NSW. Following the approval of the Open Pit Continuation (OPC) Project, the operation is expanding the existing E42 pit and developing three new satellite pits, extending mine life to 2042.

Newcastle Sand operates a recently opened 3.25 million tonne sand quarry in Williamtown, NSW. The site produces three key products – white/industrial sand, concrete/asphalt sand, and landscaping sand – supplying the Hunter and Sydney regions.

IEMA supported PanAust Limited to strengthen its carbon accounting processes across multiple international operations using the Sumday platform. The project focused on improving data accuracy, consistency and audit readiness for FY25 greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting.

IEMA provides ongoing GIS and spatial data management support to the Port of Newcastle through a regular on-site secondment arrangement. Our consultant attends site one week per month, assisting personnel with GIS-related tasks, managing spatial datasets, and providing technical spatial support across port operations.
